Beach Bag

I love this "beach girls" fabric!  It is from IKEA.  My mother saw it and bought me some.  I also LOVE how this bag turned out.

The black and white striped fabric on the inside and binding is also from IKEA.

I modified this Simplicity (1932) Pattern.  I also added the tabs for the magnetic snap closure.  I wasn't sure that I wanted to use webbing.  I have made this bag before see this post.

Uptown Madison Handbag

For the past several years, I learned to sew bags by following patterns.  I still like to buy patterns to learn new techniques.
The first bag patterns I bought were Amy Butler bag patterns.    I am very glad I got started using her patterns.  The directions are clear and include lots of illustrations.
This bag is from the  Madison Bags pattern.  It includes a shoulder bag version, a handbag, version, and a flower pattern.
Here is the Uptown Handbag.

This bag is made with Amy Butler Fabric.  Such cute stuff!  The flower on this bag is not the one included in the pattern.  The flower is made out of fleece.
This is a neat bag however, I don't think I've used it once since I made this several years ago.   I've been carrying  bigger bags because I end up carrying my kids' stuff as well.    I like being able to just shove-whatever-in my bag and go.
Enjoy your day!

Boyd St. Bowling Bag-SOLD

This bag is made from the Boyd St. Bowling Bag pattern from Emmaline Bags.
It is another wonderful pattern from Emmaline Bags.  As always, the instructions include lots of pictures and are very clear.

top of bag
I used home decor fabric from IKEA for the outside of the bag.  The inside I used red with tiny white polka-dot cotton quilting fabric.
For the inner bag...the part you don't see, I used fusible fleece on all pieces of the front/back, bottom and lining.

bag inside
On the inside of the bag there is a slip pocket, sewn in half on one side.  On the other side there is a zip pocket.

side and removable strap with swivel hooks
The removable strap is also adjustable.

On the bottom of the bag there are 6 purse feet.

bottom of bag
My bag measures:
15" wide at the bottom
10" tall measured in the center of the bag
5"wide on the side
the handles have an 8" drop (measured from the top of the bag to the center of the handle arc
the removable adjustable strap is approx. 56" long.

Make it Monday #116-Flagged Borders

Hello!
I had fun playing with scraps for this MIM.
I used PTI's It's a Celebration Stamp Set and Bloom Builders #3 die.

I'm Experimenting....

Happy Hambo Hoedown time!  I forgot how much fun it can be to make cards.  :)
This week's challenge is to use BUBBLES!
Supplies:  Test Tubes Digital Image from Hambo Stamps,
Embossing folder-Sizzix Altercations by Tim Holtz
Starburst Punch-Martha Stewart Crafts
I actually saw the layout of the half circles on a picture of a bag on Pintrest.  I'm not able to find the original source of the picture.  Anywho, as soon as I saw this I figured I could use it for this week's Hambo Hoedown Challenge.  So, I did!  :)

On a different note....speaking of bags....some of you may know that I also LOVE to make bags, aprons, wallets...etc.  Until now I've only given my creations as gifts or sold them to friends, family, neighbors and friends of friends, family and neighbors.  I also have quite a collection of bags that I've never used cluttering my craft room.  So, I've been thinking that I might try to sell via my blog and Paypal.  I know that there are sites that can advertise your items for you but, as my card says...I'm experimenting. :) I just finished a bag that I might be selling.  So, if you are interested please check back on Tues.
