MIM-Color Inspiration-Mom

This week's MIM Challenge is very informative.

I like all the wonderful color schemes....I might have to try another one.
Here is the color scheme I used:
This is what I came up with:

I didn't have any chevron stamps. I managed to find a tutorial on how to fold them.  Tutorial here.
Then I decided I didn't like the "Mom"...well, I guess I'll work on that later.

Hambo Hoedown #63-Goat

Happy Hoedown!  Check out this week's Hambo Hoedown Challenge.

For my recycled item, I used brown polka dot ribbon that was originally given to me on a tag (thanks mom!).
I used a scallop punch to make it look like the goat ate the side of the card.  Yep, I'm in a silly mood again....perhaps it's my normal state of being?
I freehand cut everything else.
Have a great week!

This week's Make it Monday Challenge is another one of those things where I think, "why didn't I think of doing that?"  :)

I only have a few colors of glitter...but the same color glitter looks different with different colors of cardstock underneath.
I had a difficult time taking a picture of this card.  LOL!
See???...oh well.

Candles-Hoedown #62

Happy Hambo Hoedown
Is it only me or does everyone smile when they look at all of the great stamps that Hambo Stamps offers?

This week's stamp "Candles" made me laugh.
I wanted to make a silly, nonsensical card to go with the Candles digital image. I don't know why this came to my mind....it's just not safe to inquire too deep into my brain.  LOL!
For this week's challenge to use 4 of something; I used 4 clothes pins.

IT'S OFFICIAL!!  I have changed my state of residence.  I braved the DMV---and survived....until next time.

Have a great week!

Male Necktie Card

I saw this post at Operation Write Home's site.  I really wanted to give this a try.
Even though the instructions AND video couldn't be any clearer...I struggled with the top knot part...LOL!

This could be a Father's Day card...but my Dad's birthday is also in June...so either occasion would work.  :)  I still haven't made any Mother's Day Cards!  This is first...I usually struggle making male cards.
The font is  Sizzix Sizzlits--Round-A-Bout.
Have a great day!

Celebrate Today-MIM #61

It's Monday and time for another fun Make It Monday Challenge.  I love flowers!  I had lots of fun with this week's challenge to use non flower dies to make a flower.
To make my flower I punched a 1 1/4" circle.  I covered this circle with glue.
For the petals I used one of PTI's Doily Details Dies.  I cut 3 doily's.  I cut them in half then scrunched them up and applied them to the glued circle.  I for the center I punched a 1 1/4" circle out of yellow.  I cut slits all around it and applied it to the center of the petals.  I added a pearl to the center.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  PTI-Friendship Jar, Polka Dot Basics, EK Success-tag
Dies:  PTI-Mat Stack 4, Doily Details Collection, Sizzix-Leaves
Punches:  EK Success-Tag, 1 1/4" circle

Sheep Invitations

We will be having an egg decorating/Easter party this weekend.
I sat down and came up with these invitations.

I made the sheep first.  Then ran out of time to be too creative.  So, I just glued the sheep on to a library card pocket.  Inside I stamped the "You are Invited" on to white cardstock, cut them out, then placed them inside the pocket.
To make the sheep:
Out of white cardstock cut:
2 large scalloped ovals--these will be the body
two small ovals--ears
one small scalloped oval-hair
four strips of paper about 1/2" wide by 2" long  These will be the legs.

Out of Black (or whatever color) CS cut the hat,  4 boots and bandanna (this is a Sizzix doll die I've had for years)  Maybe something like this is avail. on one of the cricut doll carts.?

I applied pink chalk to the insides of the ears and on the cheeks.  I stamped the face (again very old Provo Craft Stamp set).  The face could easily be drawn on.

To assemble:  I glued the boots to the legs then glued them to the back of one large scalloped oval.  I glued the bandanna on the front of the oval, then glued the face (heart shape) the ears (two small ovals),  the hair (one small scalloped oval) and the cowboy hat.  I then glued the other scalloped oval to the back.  (I did cut a small scalloped circle for the tail...but these can't be seen on my invitations) :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Provo Craft Clear Impressions Stamps-Faces,  Stampabilities-Invitation
Dies:  Nestabilities Scalloped Ovals, Ovals, Sizzix-cowboy hat, bandanna, boots
Template:  Nested Hearts-Coluzzle (Had this for a loooong time, too), River City Rubber Works-Cut up This Book-Library Card pocket.
