Make It Monday #12

Hello all!
Just a quick post for a very quick card.  I need to get this in the mail,  I only had a few min. to work on it.
This week's Make It Monday challenge is to make a line frame.  For a better explanation and video click here.

Supplies:
Stamps: PTI-Boards and Beams
Cricut-Wild Card Cartridge.
I used a black thin sharpie to draw the frame and a Tim Holtz ruler to help me.

To market, to market...

For other crochet bag ideas click here, here, here  and here
This market bag will hold just about everything.  I am using this bag to carry my crochet supplies.  This bag is huge and stretches even bigger.  Fun!
The pattern can be found at http://www.lionbrandyarn.com/ search for Fresh Produce Bag, pattern number: 90448AD.
I used Sugar N' Cream yarn-Hot Purple for the bag.
For the flower, I used a pattern out of 100 Flowers to Knit and Crochet
Have a great one!

Girlfriend Power!

Last weekend my BFF treated me to my first pedicure and Starbucks.  We got to spend a little bit of some much needed (on my part) girlfriend time.  So, I thought I'd use this week's MFT sketch to make her a thank you card.  (If you read this...it's in the mail--really)  LOL!
Here are our pretty toes!

I took this from her FB page.  Hope she doesn't mind.

Here is a close-up of the pretty flower...with bling in the center.

Here is my card.  The only difference is that we had Starbucks...no wine. :)

This is the sketch.

Wow!  It's almost Friday!  What happened to this week?  Time flies when you had a fun weekend, I guess.  I need more of them.
Check back tomorrow for another crochet market bag.
Enjoy your day!

Crochet Mesh Shopping Bag #2

Hello again! I thought I'd show you one more crochet bag I made.
For other bags I crocheted click here, here, here, and here
I love this flower!
I made this bag for a very dear friend.  :)  She told me that she liked the other bags I made, so I made her this one.

For the pattern for the bag click here.  OR go to http://www.sugarncream.com/
and search for Sugar'n Cream Market Bag (Crochet).  This site requires you to have or create an account to get the pattern--it's all free.  For the flower and  leaves, I used a pattern for one that is on a scarf I am in the process of making.  You can find it by searching http://www.lionbrandyarn.com/.  The scarf is Doublin Scarf pattern #80883AD.  Again, you have to create or have an account to access the pattern.
There are many free flower and bag patterns available...just do a search.  One site that has many crochet patterns for anything you'd like to crochet--maybe even things you didn't know you wanted to crochet click here.
For this bag I used Sugar 'n Cream Rose Pink yarn.  For the flower only, I used two strands together.
If you make a bag, please let me know.  I'd love to see what you create!
Check back within the week.  I'll be posting another style of a crochet market bag.
Have a great day!

Many Blessings

This week I combined PTI's Make it Monday Challenge (use a die to emboss) and Mojo Monday sketch #187.

I embossed PTI's Parisian Lace Die using the tan embossing mat (Spellbinders) on green paper.  I sanded the embossed design.  For the flower, I die cut 5 layers of tissue paper using one of PTI's Doily Details Dies.  I put one flat then folded the other 4 into 4ths.  I glued them in the center then crumpled them to give dimension.
I hope you have many blessings in your life.

Supplies:
Paper:  My Mind's Eye?
Stamps:  PTI-Garden of Life
Dies:  PTI-Doily Details Collection, Parisian Lace, Sizzix-tag

Ruffled Wristlet

One of my favorite things to do is to sew bags/purses. I also love to come accross cute patterns that are offered...FOR FREE!
I came across this cute "Ruffled Wristlet" pattern while searching on the internet.
Click here to go to tutorial and pattern.
Here is the wristlet that I made.

with flap open
This is the perfect size when I don't want to carry the "mother ship" purse. I can throw my phone and a few other items into it and go. I also like the zipper closure.
In mine, I added a divider in the center to keep my phone seperate from my keys.

Enjoy your day!

Can an ogre be cute?

What do masking, distressing, and a sketch have in common? YES! I combined three different challenges into one card! Ya'll are so smart!
I combined this week's PTI-Make It Monday (use a die to mask) challenge, Hambo Stamps Hoedown (distress) Challenge, and Mojo Monday Sketch #186.
So, back to the question--that is the title of this post--can an ogre be cute? Well, I do think that this Hambo digi stamp 'ogre' is cute. Sorry Mr. Ogre, I mean no disrespect...calling you cute.
My card
I used PTI's Doily Details die as a mask. I sponged Ranger Distress Ink Milled Lavender over the die cut. I distressed the edges by first inking them then roughing them up with my finger.
Have a great day!

Happy Easter, Easter Bunny!

Can you believe that Easter is almost here? Wasn't it just Christmas? Or is it just me?
I came across this book "Crafting Springtime Gifts" by Tone Finnanger. I couldn't help myself. I had to get it. There are some cute projects in this book. Although, I don't usually sew these kinds of things. I enjoyed it. So much so, that I bought a few more of her books. She even has a few books in Swedish...I might have to learn Swedish. Anyone care to help or join me? Haa Haa!
Here are two bunnies I made with fabric scraps I had from other projects.
Just a small warning. If you are thinking of purchasing the book the instructions are a little vague. So, if you've never sewn before you might not want to use this book for a first project. However, I am guessing that since I was able to make them, then most people should be fine.
There isn't a pattern for the overalls for the bunny. I just played with the pants pattern and turned it into overalls.

Hambo Hoedown #10

Wow! What a day! As soon as I'm done, I'm out the door to Vegas or to buy a lottery ticket. (In reality, I'm just going to softball game.) This kind of day happens to me about once every 30 years, and since I'm (cough, umm, cough) only 20 that's pretty amazing!
I won not 1 but 2 fabulous prizes! Yippee!
BUT, it doesn't stop there! I also learned a few new fun things. Like how to add those pictures on the sides of my blog. (I know it's the small things...) AND, I learned how to make an easel card.
This week's Hambo Hoedown challange is to make an easle card.
If you are like me, you're thinking what is an easle card? Well, click on this link to find what it is and how to make one. There is even a video!
Here is my easle card

The stamp "Penguin Bunny" is a digital stamp from Hambo Stamps. I received it for free simply by participating in the Hambo Hoedown last week. If you'd like to find out more information about the hoedown, click on either hoedown picture on either side.

It's Monday...on Tuesday!

This week's Make it Monday challenge is to heat emboss. When I first started stamping, years ago, a nearby LSS created their own embossing powder mixes. I LOVED buying them. I have about 20 different varities of embossing powder mixes. However, I really haven't heat embossed for a while. Anyway, it was fun to pull out the heat gun and embossing powder for this challenge, even though I only used clear powder today.
You'll have to excuse me. I am having a "I can't take a decent picture" day. I took no less than 80 pictures, only a few were clear.
I stamped the fancy buttons rectangle with VersaMark Ink and then used clear embossing powder. I also die cut buttons using the PTI Buttoned Up #1 die. I colored two of the buttons by placing them directly on top of the Weathered Wood ink pad. After they were dry, I placed the die cut buttons directly on the VersaMark Ink pad then sprinkled clear embossing powder and melted it. The "just a note ticket" is also heat embossed.
Here is a close-up.
I layerd the small button on top of the med. button.
That's all for now.
Have a wonderful day!

Stamps: PTI-Button Botique, Just the Ticket
Dies: PTI-Parisian Lace Doily, Button Up #1, Nestabilities-Labels 5

Crochet Mesh Shopping Bag

I've been enjoying my crochet projects lately. I searched online for patterns. OMG! There are millions of free patterns! Granted lots of them are not for me...there is NO WAY you can get me in a bikini, so crocheting one probably wouldn't be a good thing.
These were made from a free pattern that was on the label of Sugar 'N Cream yarn. I thought I'd give it a try. It was fun and easy. I added crocheted flowers.
Originally, I started making one as a gift. I started one bag with the yarn I had on hand. I got about 1/2 done and remembered a comment that this friend had made about not liking the color I was using. So, I got a different color and started another one. I hope she likes it.
Enjoy your day!

Update:  For a link to the pattern click here to go to post.

Hello again!
It is very much spring here. I can't say I look foward to the HOT summers, but spring is usually nice.
Time for another fun Hambo Hoedown. (I wonder how many calories a this hoedown will burn?....hmmm??--I'm always looking for an excuse to induldge in CHOCOLATE!)
This week's challenge is to use HOT PINK and BRIGHT GREEN. (Or BRIGHT GREEN and HOT PINK...however you care to think of it.)
The very cute caterpillar image is a digital stamp from Hambo Stamps. You can buy it here.
If you are interested in participating in the hoedown, you can find more info here.
I might have another card at a later date...I have a thought in my head. No, you don't have to run screaming. It happens from time to time. It'll be okay.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!

MFT-Weekly Sketch Challenge #13

Greetings!
Hope you are all healthy and happy!
It is MFT sketch time! These are such fun sketches!
This week's sketch:
Here is my card:

The card looks different in person. Maybe the pink isn't as bright? Can you tell that I had this paper sitting on my work space? I've used it on the last few cards I've made. Have no fear! It's almost all used up. Heee hee
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE purses! I enjoy sewing, shopping for, and buying them. I'm sure there will be future posts about those projects.
I paper pieced the stamped image. I wanted to do something different.
Supplies:
Stamp: My Favorite Things-What a Girl Wants
Patterned paper: Provo Craft-pink hearts, green swirl, DCWV-polka dot
Cardstock: stash (unknown)
